Jay Williams, J.D.*, CFP®, AEP®

Jay is the founder and President of Williams Estate & Financial Group. He focuses on estate and financial planning for both businesses and families.  From business to family, Jay works to help clients prepare for the financial future they hope to achieve and help others preserve what they have worked hard to build. 

He utilizes his previous experience practicing law to help clients achieve their goals for retirement and to leave a legacy. Jay has a bachelors' degree in Civil Engineering from UMass Amherst, a law degree from UMass School of Law and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2007.  He was sworn in as a member of the U.S. District Court in 2010 and is a member of NAIFA, MDRT, the New Bedford Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the South Coast Senior Resource Association. He iholds a designation of Accredited Estate Planner and is a member of the Bristol County Estate Planning Council.  




William G. "Bill" Heaney, MBA, CLU, LUTCF

Bill is an Executive Vice President of Williams Estate and Financial Group. His  practice focuses on helping people attain their retirement and estate goals. He works with both businesses and individuals. His primary goal is to help people secure their financial retirement and to help them pass along their assets to their beneficiaries.   

Bill's experience in finance first as Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Charlton Health System, then Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Southcoast Health System has helped him develop a unique understanding of the issues and pressures facing physicians today. 

Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from Bentley College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts. He has also completed advanced studies culminating in both the Charter Life Underwriter and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow designations at The American College. Bill resides with his wife Janice in Wareham, MA.  Together they enjoy time with their two children and five grandchildren.

Michael Laliberte

As a Financial Services Representative, Michael Laliberte’s mission is to assist individuals, families and  business owners in defining their financial goals and achieving financial independence. He is trained and licensed to provide financial solutions to his clients and prospects.  His goal is to become a lifelong resource to his clients, and he is dedicated to assisting them through the  various stages of their financial lives. At Baystate Financial, Michael is able to utilize the team approach and draw upon the wealth of knowledge of his associates to create custom designed financial strategies for his clients. 

Michael holds an Associates of Science degree from Community College of Rhode Island, and also a Bachelors of Science in Financial Services Management from Johnson & Wales University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He has fourteen years of investment advisory and financial planning experience. Michael holds the Series 6, 7, & 63 Securities Licenses as well as Life, Disability and Long Term Care Insurance.

Michael lives in Rehoboth, MA .  During his free time, spending time with his daughters, playing guitar, playing golf, and hiking the White Mountains of New Hampshire.


Vanessa M.F. Williams, Ph.D.

Vanessa focuses on marketing and relationship management.  She works to further develop the Williams Estate & Financial Group's appreciation business model.  Vanessa has a B.A. in Psychology from UMass Dartmouth and M.A. ('04) and Ph.D. ('07) in Social/Developmental Psychology from Brandeis University.  She enjoys working alongside her husband, Jay, but most of all, loves her time home with their two children.  






Kerry Guimond

Kerry Guimond is Executive Office Manager at Williams Estate & Financial Group, she works with our representatives and staff to keep the office running efficiently and smoothly. Her managerial experience began in chain restaurants where she remained for over a decade before moving into the financial sector. Kerry graduated Magna Cum Laude from UMASS Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management.

Her favorite pastimes are walking or hiking with dogs and cuddling with her cat and reading a good book.

Herbert K. Daroff, JD*, CFP®
Agency Director - Estate & Business Planning Focus

Herb is an attorney by education and very proud to be a financial representative by profession. He focuses on Estate and Business Strategies for Baystate Financial in Boston where he provides custom case design.  He has been actively involved in the financial services industry since 1973.  Herb is on the faculty at Bentley University in Waltham, MA.   

Mr. Daroff graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Commerce and Engineering in 1975, and Temple University - School of Law with a J.D. in 1979.  Herb is very active in volunteer efforts in his community and the financial services industry.  He is Past President of the Greater Boston Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP, now the Financial Planning Association, FPA) and served as a member of the national IAFP Ethics Committee.

Herb's creativity, experience, and resourcefulness enable him to work very well with clients and their professional advisory team in order to implement responsive solutions for financial  objectives.  Herb is contributing editor for LIFE & Health Advisor.

Jennifer Shea, JD*, MBA
Financial Planning Director

Jennifer Shea is an Attorney by education and heads up the Estate and Business Planning department at Baystate Financial Services. In this role, Jennifer partners with Financial Advisors to provide subject matter expertise to help identify and create customized solutions for clients. Jennifer is well-versed in all areas of financial planning and has developed particular expertise in the areas of estate consertation, insurance, philanthropy and retirement.

Jennifer received a B.S. from The Pennsylvania State University, J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, and M.B.A. from Syracuse University School of Management. While in law school, she served as Executive Editor of the Syracuse Law Review. Jennifer has also attained the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ designation . She is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificatant, which is awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.

Prior to joining Baystate Financial Services, Jennifer was a Senior Planning Specialist at Merrill Lynch and an associate at a boutique trust and estate law firm in Boston. She has experience in estate planning, estate administration, trust administration and the related areas of estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. Jennifer also completed a two-year appointment as Co-Chair of the Boston Bar Association's Estate Planning Fundamentals Committee.

Jennifer is admitted to the bar in Massachusetts and is an active member of the Women's Bar Association, Boston Estate Planning Council and the Trusts and Estates Consortium.


Alan Roycroft
Agency Director - Investments

As the Head of the Investment Department, Alan is responsible for helping advisors and sales managers meet client investment goals and objectives. Before joining Baystate, Alan was a Director of National Sales for the MetLife Broker-Dealer Group where he  specialized in helping advisors develop the techniques and skills to become the best in the business, and arm them with a wide array of business-building solutions and strategies to solve specific client problems.

Alan has 20 years of professional sales and management experience that began in asset management, and has culminated for the last 18 years with a variety of sales and marketing roles in the development and management of the broker dealer.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Art degree from Salve Regina University, and holds his Series 7 and 24 Licenses. He was born and raised in the Boston area, and during his free time enjoys skiing, golfing and following the financial markets. Alan lives in Westwood with his wife Maureen and his three children, Sarah, Katie and Jack.
