Jay Williams, J.D.*, CFP®, AEP®

Jay is the founder and President of Williams Estate & Financial Group. He focuses on estate and financial planning for both businesses and families.  From business to family, Jay works to help clients prepare for the financial future they hope to achieve and help others preserve what they have worked hard to build. 

He utilizes his previous experience practicing law to help clients achieve their goals for retirement and to leave a legacy. Jay has a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from UMass Amherst, a law degree from UMass School of Law, and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2007.  He was sworn in as a member of the U.S. District Court in 2010 and is a member of NAIFA, MDRT, the New Bedford Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the South Coast Senior Resource Association. He holds a designation of Accredited Estate Planner and is a member of the Bristol County Estate Planning Council.  

 

 

 

 

Vanessa M.F. Williams, Ph.D.

Vanessa focuses on marketing and relationship management.  She works to further develop the Williams Estate & Financial Group's appreciation business model.  Vanessa has a B.A. in Psychology from UMass Dartmouth, M.A. ('04), and Ph.D. ('07) in Social/Developmental Psychology from Brandeis University.  She enjoys working alongside her husband, Jay, but most of all loves her time at home with their two children.

Herbert K. Daroff, JD*, CFP®

Agency Director - Estate & Business Planning Focus

Herb is an attorney by education and very proud to be a financial representative by profession. He focuses on Estate and Business Strategies for Baystate Financial in Boston where he provides custom case design.  He has been actively involved in the financial services industry since 1973.  Herb is on the faculty at Bentley University in Waltham, MA.   

Mr. Daroff graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Commerce and Engineering in 1975, and Temple University - School of Law with a J.D. in 1979.  Herb is very active in volunteer efforts in his community and the financial services industry.  He is Past President of the Greater Boston Chapter of the International Association for Financial Planning (IAFP, now the Financial Planning Association, FPA) and served as a member of the national IAFP Ethics Committee.

Herb's creativity, experience, and resourcefulness enable him to work very well with clients and their professional advisory team in order to implement responsive solutions for financial objectives.  Herb is a contributing editor for LIFE & Health Advisor.

Alan Roycroft

Agency Director - Investments

As the Head of the Investment Department, Alan is responsible for helping advisors and sales managers meet client investment goals and objectives. Before joining Baystate, Alan was a Director of National Sales for the MetLife Broker-Dealer Group where he specialized in helping advisors develop the techniques and skills to become the best in the business and arm them with a wide array of business-building solutions and strategies to solve specific client problems.

Alan has 20 years of professional sales and management experience that began in asset management and has culminated for the last 18 years with a variety of sales and marketing roles in the development and management of the broker-dealer.

Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Salve Regina University and holds his Series 7 and 24 Licenses. He was born and raised in the Boston area, and during his free time enjoys skiing, golfing, and following the financial markets. Alan lives in Westwood with his wife Maureen and his three children, Sarah, Katie, and Jack.
